What do you call this jigged bone? Honeycomb?

Got this 1983 lockback a while ago. Nice and tight, good snap. I have not seen this kind of bone on queen knives.

It does not look like Rogers to me - too regular and I think rogers bone is usually in darker hues.

It looks like a honeycomb to me, but I have never heard of such a bone.

Appreciate any suggestions or comments.

( I was recently told to keep the questions coming. I have struck out a fair number of times on this site, but also got some helpful answers, so I apologize for "overposting," I am on an intermittant reinforcement schedule - hard to stop).

I don't know a lot about Queen, but it may be their own pattern that they jigged in house.
You might call Queen or send them an email and see if they can answer that for you.

Keep the questions coming, and if you find out be sure to post the answer, that is how we all learn!

I'm not for sure either but if not honeycomb perhaps corn cob jigging. Let us know what you find out from Queen.

Thanks for the responses. I appreciate the suggestions. I have a Schatt and Morgan swing guard in the orange corncob and an SFO lockback hunter in wine corncob. The jigging inquestionon the '83 knife is not really a corncob or popcorn at all. It is very regular like that, but with no flat surface in between the rows, and the edges of the jigging are very hex-shaped.

I took Dale's advice and sent an e-mail with the same images to Jennie Moore at Queen. She has always been extremely helpful. I will share her comments.

This is the first I've seen "Case College" website. VERY NICE. Thank you for that referral. I don't think this knife is one of those Case patterns,but there is a lot of great information.

When I get to the point of adding a signature line, mine will read:

Update:

The updated Queen corporate website gives nice email contacts for all key staff. I sent Jenny Moore a pic of the jigging in question. So far haven't heard back. She has answered me helpfully every time I have called, but I don't want to abuse that.

Attached is a pic of a second knife taken off EBay that has the same patternof a honey colored bone with regular indents that have what I think of as hex-shaped edges. I have check several corncob patterns. Ones I own and the nice examples on this forum that Jerry D suggested above. I do not think this is any kind of corncob jig.

The knife below is a schatt and Morgan sunfish whittler still for sale. Item # 251193793302. It is a SFO, no date given or visible in other pictures. I am not into slip joint knives and I am not sure the name given this knife by the seller is correct. My apologies. The jigging on this knife looks very much like the one I originally posted. So at least Queen has used this bone several times.

Here is a third knife by Queen with the same hex-edged jigging. This fisherman's knife was offered by "Sportcolbs" on Ebay. It is a prototype that did not go into regular production. Pic shows nice example of this unusal jigged bone. It was listed as Rogers, but in conversation with me he agreed it is probably not a true Rogers bone.
