Try posting this in the Knife Lore forum...there are a couple of guys who are really well versed on Imperials, but they might not check this forum.

Sharkman... I have dozens of these old Frontiers, as well as merchandizers and catalogs. Let me try a shot about pins on the 4515 model (also known as the 'Sportsman' model).

Here is an illustration of the knife from the catalog. As you can see it has two handle pins and one center pivot pin for the backspring. I have never seen it done differently. Along with the 'Double Eagles', with wood handles and stainless blades, Imperial offered these as plain old 'Frontiers' some with carbon steel blades, and all with delrin handles in Smooth Ivory, Yellow, Black and in Delrin 'jigged bone'. There was at least one company that Imperial made this for that requested a red handle. All of these also have the pins as I describe above.

If your knife is any different, I'd love to see a photo of it.

One of the several Sears (craftsman) model numbers for your knife is 95415.

Did I answer your question?

As dated as these things are (produced 1975 to about 1984), they remain good values as users. One of the Frontier model 422 drop points is my deer field dressing knife, a nice take off of the orginal Bob Loveless 'dropped hunter' (it was advertised as 'custom designed' without using that maker's name).

I have worn out two 4515 types; both I had equipped with 'one armed bandits' for thumb stud opening, using them for jobs better suited to a bigger and stronger Buck 110.

Thanks for your questiion, I am always happy to be able to tell about my favorite brand knife.

Nice displays LT!
Thanks for sharing.

These are really good user knives and can usually be picked up on ebay fairly inexpensively. My personal favorites are the Powderhorn Stag, the jigged Delrin models. The 4231, Round Bolster Serpentine stockman, is my favorite of the bunch to carry. The 4515 is a close second. If it had carbon steel it would be one of my top ten favorite knives.
