schrade ???

Post by JP2inNY »

Hello everyone. Im totally new to this "forum thing" so forgive my ignorance.

Let me start of by saying i do not collect knives. that being said i know very little about them.
I found this knife in a junk drawer in my garage. i was walking over to my bench grinder to sharpen it when i stopped and thought, "this looks old".
The markings read: SCHRADE/CUT. CO./WALDEN,N.Y and on the other side:
U.S.PATS./FEB.13,06./FEB.26,07./SEPT.13,10.
The question is, is this worth anything?
Thanks.

Yes, it has value. Does the spring still open the blade? How are the handles on the back side?

Looks like a really nice knife :D

Good thing you did not put it to the bench grinder ::doh:: You would have lost a lot of value ::nod::

If you ground the blade down you would have lost 50% of the value or more.

Check your PM`s The button at the top right of you screen

I should be lucky enough to find things of that value just lying around. What would be interesting to me is how it got there in the first place.

My father in law gave me a box of "junk" a few years back. i just threw it in an old dresser draw in the garage. he told me it was his fathers. i thought he was nuts. its that old huh? maybe i should evaluate that other "junk".
