Bulldog Stag Sunfish/Toenail

I picked up this Bulldog Stag Toenail the other day that has some of the most gorgeous stag I have seen on a pocketknife..This knife is huge and heavy, I am guessing it weighs close to a 1/2 lb..I'm telling you it's beefy..

( I will weigh it to see how close it really is to that weight).

This is my first Sunfish/Toenail I have in my collection..And hopefully not the last..

Hey Sunburst,

Now you really got the right idea for collecting as this knife is a true show piece beauty for sure my knifer friend!!! ....Everything about this knife screams quality & collectability with that too cool main blade etch, shield, handle material & pattern , now you know why I collect this here pattern so much!

Neat stag toenail you have got yourself. Before I went 100% old toenails, I like most of the "newer" ones, including Fight'n Rooster, Case Classics, John Primble, Smith & Wesson, and Winchester to name a few....
I love the colorful sunfish on the blades.....but I also have a place of stag as one of my favorite handle materials.

You got a good one there. They only made that design one year - that's it! This is the sunfish with one end larger than the other. Short run too, only 60 of these stag babies made - 1994. My opinion is this is the best sunfish they made!

Wow thank you fella's, I appreciate your opinions more than you know and the knowledge and experience behind those thoughts and opinions.

I have never owned such a heavy, beefy knife it's almost crazy. You would need suspenders to hold your pants up..

It sure does seem I may have landed a nice one that will stay a while with the rest of my pack...After getting a toenail and seeing it for what it is I can see how they are one of the most highly prized knives out there for collecting...

This is my first Sunfish/Toenail too and only one yet.

She is a Winchester Sunfish Elephant Toenail Genuine Sambar Deer Stag 1998.
W18 250120 45-70 Cartridge Stag 4" closed.
Made by Winchester tooling at Blue Grass Cutlery in Ohio.
Came with a 1990 pick to OPEN it with.

My photo does not show the shine on the handles, but they sure does in my hand.

Sunburst hope this is not just a Buldog post. I think your stag looks nicer than mine.

That is really cool sunburst. Beautiful stag and etch on that knife. Ken I like your knife too. That pattern is starting to grow on me

Do they come with a coupon for free visit to the chiropractor

I suppose if you had one in each pocket they would provide extra stability in icy or windy conditions.

Really nice toenail! I did always like the Winchester toenails, but had to sell them ALL to get up some $$ to buy a big collection of old ones.....took a beating too.

I'll second that declaration for sure!

It is very easy to get bit by the toenail bug...but be careful, it is about like having kids....costly

I do believe that Winchester is a beauty and just as fine as the one I was showing..If my hunch is correct your Toenail was made by Queen Cutlery so the quality would be excellent..

I have noticed that you have been pulling all kinds of secret beauty's out of your knife drawer here lately Ken. I want to know what else are you holding back from us..

But your Stag Toenail still looks real good to me.

Roger - 50/2050 has some really BOSS Toenails IMO.

To answer you’re thoughts about me hiding some knives? It took me along time before I got a camera. I am still learning how to take good photos like you do. I will post a NEW (as Sunburst calls it "secret beauty's") called COLEMAN. Check that out.
