Case XX

Post by petesknives »

Was doing some knife preventive care today and I noticed that I've got a Case with no pattern number on it. It's a small coke bottle (#25), looking for the pattern number, there appears to never have been one. It's an XX era. Is this common or rare or a factory error. Will send some pics in the next day or two. Thanks Ken

Ken, It is probably from early portion of the XXera. The early ones didn't have a pattern # and later ones did.

Thanks for the info. Another question: is a knife without pattern number
more desirable than one with? Putting aside condition ect.. Ken

Not really...almost all knives of that era were not stamped with the pattern number.
