here is what my three kids and my wife got me for fathers day 3 imperial and one old timer i know where there made but none of them has china on them anywhere

I think both brands come off the same line. I've picked up three import Old Timers and two are good quality, the third more like wallyworld/Remington at Christmas quality. I suspect one of them is actually 440C.

I'm curious how the fit and finish is on those?
What steel do you suspect they're made from?

well the fit and finish is pretty good they have small gaps between the handels and the bolsters but other than that there ok and the blades are 400 series stainless according to what i read

As far as China not being printed on them anywhere.....I don't know.

I just reviewed a Colonial that had a little oval transparent sticker with the word CHINA in black stuck to the knife. It fell off when I looked at it. And now, well, you don't see CHINA anywhere on it.

With World Peace so previlent, we wouldn't want to show favoritism over one country or another cuz we might hurt someone feelings.

They are diffidently a china import but they are well made knives I have several myself.They are all a Taylor brand.The Taylor Brand knives seem to be some of the best of the China knives that are bin imported at this time.The Hammer Brand knives from Taylor Brands seem to be of less quality than the Old Timers and the Schrade brands they carry.Now this is just my opinion on the subject from experience with a limited number of there products as fare as the Hammer Brand is concerned.
Taylor also owns the rights to Colt"and others" and I see good things coming from them as well.
1.Schrade,stag.
2.Schrade Old timer,Pearl and torques.
3.Colt,black stag bone.
