Help with Buckmaster 184

Post by gino »

I have a chance to buy a Buckmaster 184 survival knife and was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it.

It is grey and has
Buck 184
Pat pending
USA
on tang

Box, compass,stone,paperwork,sheath included
The seller told me this was the first year it was made

I did a quick ebay search and found ones like it that were going for several hundred dollars but they were later years because the patent number was on the blade itself.
any other info would be very helpful.
Thanks
Gino ;)

Buy it now and research later ! I would put the minimum value at $200 and max value at $450 + ! The sales venue will determine final return on your investment .

Thanks Bob, I was kinda thinkin the same way. I kicked myself for not getting it yesterday. The seller had it tucked away and only after I purchased a few other knives from him did he pull it out and offer it to me. I hope he brings it today. I will post some pics if he does. ;)

Since it has pat pending on tang I would guess this is a early one???

They are sweet, gino. The Patent Pending and NIB ones go for $300+ on eBay often. They are the ultimate survivor knife in my opinion and very well built.

What the H3!! did Buck do to the Buckmaster? ::barf:: I hope you can still get a 184, because the 084 doesn't work for me.
