Case mini trapper in ironwood

I just finished this up for one of my dad's friends. Hopefully he'll like it. there are a couple carbon spots on it that I need to clean off, but other than that, she is finished.

Great looking knife there M-M. What do you use to finish the ironwood? I've used a couple finishes, tung and danish oils, carnuba wax and I'm just not quite satisfied with the finished product so far.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I usually do a couple coats of hand rubbed boiled linseed oil followed by a few minutes of buffing with white compound. This one I just buffed, no oil.

Thanks M-M. I've done the same thing on snakewood, hard to find quality stuff on that one though. Impossible to stabilize and some pieces have lots fine fractures in them. Oh-well, it was free.

For treating woods, I've found a product I really like. It's called "HOWARD Feed-N-Wax." Here is the website, if you're interested...

It seems especially good when battling wet..dry..wet..dry.....like the kitchen or wet conditions.

Home Depot, for one, carries it.

Heck, I even use it on my walking stick, so it looks cool...

...even if I don't.
