Just for Fun collecible knives

There are knives I center my collection around, like five inch ticklers, boot knives and god=awful expensive fixed blades, then there are knives that really make me happy to find. Why is that? For one, they are cheap. For another they are excellent users. This makes it all fun.

Guys from the Schrade forum know all about my love of the old Imperial Frontiers, those made by Camillus in the USA, so I won't get into those. Yet.

But here are some that I always enjoy finding, and frequently carry in my pocket. The 'Explorer' brand, made in Japan, imported by Guttman a few years back. Cheap as hell for the most part, although last night on ebay an interesting Explorer boot knife went for about $60. But here are a few of mine. Like that little 'Slim Jim' extra long, peanut with two blades. NIce bone handles and elegant as hell and I bought it for $6.00 new in the box. There is a nice wood handled two blade pen knife there too, a bargain at $4.00 according to my records.

These knives may not all be useful, they might just be interesting. Like that big Explorer 'Swing Lock' shown at the top left. Ain't it cool? At the time it was produced, it was the strongest folding knife known to man. I have one just with the sheath, another all NIB and even has the screw on pocket clip. Get this: A 7 and a half inch folding knife with a pocket clip! The knife is fun to play with, and is a good, solid user. There is a warning in the paperwork (I feel sorry for folks who buy these without the warning instructions), if you don't grip the knife right, and the blade catches on something you have just cut and are pulling it out, it may close on you. Yikes! Was designed by 'F. Boyd'. Interesting knife and sword guy, google him. Ebay price on the knife: $15 to $30

Down in the lower left is two examples of the "Rogue 2". My favorite rope knife. All stainless, all serrated blade, with a clip, cuts like all get out. It's worth having two of these.

Just a few examples of what I call a fun collectible. Can you guys show me some older or rarely seen brands you enjoy finding?

I've posted this knife in another thread...but it's one I bought just because it has a coiled spring assist, and it was designed by Blackie Collins.....

i had the meyerco speedster that came in a little race car shaped tin. it was a pretty good knife. no assist spring though.

I had one of those as well johnnie, and gave it as a gift. Also had a smaller one called a Speed Demon. Guess Blackie just liked the name.
