Old Colonial??

Post by Ratchet »

I stumbled into an old out of the way second hand store, this guy had everything from old tools to records, to all kinds of old antiques and "junk"...., but if you were looking for it - good place to shop...

anyway, I asked if he had pocket knives and he bought out a small chocolate box with several knives....

I found this Colonial 2 blade...., is it old? It is in mint condition as its never been used or sharpened, handles are like a plastic - painted brown against the white....

paid $10

I asked him what really sells and he said depending on the customer, but mostly old pocket knives, lighters and tie clips (cufflinks)

anyway, anyone care to guess how old this knife might be? Just curious...

As per a 2001 Colonial catalog I have, it appears to be one of the MASTER SERIES knives, although that specific model is not shown here. Probably a slightly older one. Having handled a few of these old knives, the handle is right on, and the crest shield was used on some of them (see the knife in upper right of catalog page). The tangstamp is certainly correct for these.
