Wait a minute! Aren't they all the same knives?

Compare many of the German made knives and it seems they are made in the same factory the same pattern just a different name on the tang or blade.
You can pick up one brand that says one of 500 and then another brand will have one of 1,000 and when you compare them they are the same knife, just different tang stamps and maybe handle material.
I think many are contracting their name on these knives.
I think also now some China made knives are being shown as German made.
Don't one factory in Germany make most of the knives that we refer to today as German made?

Hi Tom. I know that Bulldog Brand, German Eye, Indian Head, Fight'n Rooster. Weidmanshiell and Jim Bowie Brand (along with some new knives using old tang stamps such as Krusius Bros., Marshall-Wells and Shapleigh Hdwe.) are all made in the Olbertz factory in Solingen Germany. Hen & Rooster, Buck Creek and German Bull are made in the same factory (Bertram?). Boker besides making their own knives makes J.A. Henckels and the newer John Russell knives along with a few others. As far as Chinese made knives that are being passed off as German made there is Owl Heads, Bear and Bull (the newer ones), German Creek, German Bobcat etc. Most of these Chinese made knives are being imported by Taylor Cutlery. The first 4 patterns: the 2100 Saddle Horn, 394 Gunboat Canoe, 488 Congress, & 223 Trapper - Tang stamped '90 were made by Case (this includes all the XXX knives of the 1st three patterns)... To my knowledge the entire balance was made by Queen.. GB
