Unmarked fixed blade

Post by whitebuffalo58 »

With very few exceptions, when it comes to fixed blade knives, i'm pretty much clueless. This knife came by way of a box lot of items I got off the Bay. I spotted it in the mix, but really didn't give it much weight when placing a bid.

Front of handle is engraved "Betty", rear is engraved "Bob" and the bottom appears to be engraved with what looks like "Go Tell Mo"?
Any info would be appreciated, but I guess what i'm looking for most would be, is this knife worth having in a collection or just some cheap reproduction?
Blade is carbon steel. I put an edge on it and from what I could tell, it seems to be of respectable quality.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Every knife needs a home.

That one has chosen to reside with you.

Embrace it.

(Looks like it would be willing to earn its keep)

Can't argue with ya there Phil. ::tu:: Sort of a "the treasure is in the hands of the beholder" thing, right? Just didn't wanna take it to the bush if it was some sort of priceless relic. I did wonder if the "Go Tell Mo" inscription might refer to Mussolini. It's a stretch, I know. But I thought it might be a common catch phrase for WWII soldiers in Europe. Have I confirmed just how clueless I am about these sort of knives yet? ::facepalm::
