Learning Patience!!!

Hey, thanks for everyone who responded to my top 5 made in USA post. It is really hard as I am starting my collection to have patience and not just buying all the cheap stuff. As I was looking at all your top 5 made in USA makers I realized Quality means more cash. You would think scince I have worked with teenagers for the last 15 years I would know something about patience. My wife is giving me a monthly budget for my hobbies. DARN! (Budget is a nicer way of saying allowance) So I have to choose wisely and save my Buget for something good. OH WELL! good things come to those who wait. hopfully it's true.

Back when I had children in the house, I never wanted my hobbies (hunting and fishing back then) to take cash outta the family money. Lord knows, there was little enuf of it to go around.
What I did was to find a way to create extra income. I found in the form of second jobs and/or extra work at the company where I worked at the time.
The negative part was that it took me away from my family for a while so there were some serious decisions to be made. For practical purposes, it made more work for my wife.
Good knives and mint knives aren't cheap so keep things in perspective.

Both of our children have left the nest. I think they are costing more money than when were at home though. Don't get me wrong I Don't want to be selfish with anything. And I am greatful for my wife giving a set aside amount of money for me to use for me. But, our nest won't ever be really empty we work with kids all over Florida. As far as for Priorities I don't get it perfect all the time but I try hard to keep it as 1. Relationship with God 2. Relationship with my wife 3. Relationship with my wonderful children 4. Work hard in the ministry that God has allowed me to be apart of. Hobbies are just tools I use to clear my mind and recharge to be able to fulfill my other priorities. Sorry if I went a little deep there. Anyways after I wrote this post last night I looked the $1 deal post and realized this hobby is like any other its a balancing act. Its not just saving money for the expensive knife, it is also having patience to wait for the right deal to come along. as always thanks for the input!
