I doubt the knife is that old
The blade was made from an old file, look at the second picture, you can still see the lines.

You could be right "Miller Bro`s". I couldn't see that in the images when I bought it. I keep plugging, sooner or later I'll hit gold (you know where gold is? Where you find it..:+) (Forever the optimist)...LOL I still like the knife, I don't mind folk art knives in my collection. It has to date back at least to the 1800s.Miller Bro`s wrote:I doubt the knife is that old![]()

As long as you like it that is all that mattersDraac wrote: I still like the knife, I don't mind folk art knives in my collection.

Keep one thing in mind when buying on Feebay there are a lot of sharks on there that will say anything to get your money...........

To stay ahead of them, ask lots of questions here at AAPK , preferably before you buy from them

You are correct "Miller Bro`s" but I don't gamble as to (state lottery, casinos and such, people should just write them a check and walk out is my theory of a casino). I do gamble on knives only "to learn". Some day at a flee market or yard sale I will know more than the seller and hit it good. Learning anything takes mistakes. The cost of a some mistakes on a knife is worth the learning to me. I'm new to this game of knives but I see potential in it if I buy the right knife at the right price. I collect/deal in gold/silver and gemstones (which I have learned along the way and have done very well in it, not without mistakes through the years). I'm a collector first, then I want my buying to be worth something more someday. I appreciate all that you and others have taught me about knives, I was very fortunate to find this well rounded, smart group of knife collectors....THANK YOU & HATS OFF TO YOU ALL...:+)Miller Bro`s wrote:As long as you like it that is all that mattersDraac wrote: I still like the knife, I don't mind folk art knives in my collection.![]()

Dimitri, do you think those lines could be tool marks? There are lines on the center ridge of the blade, but also there are lines below the ridge as well. I wonder if they could be tool marks.Miller Bro`s wrote: The blade was made from an old file.
Nice knife.

Nice knife.
I have look at the knife with a loop and the lines that were refered to by "Miller Bro`s" are all going in the downward direction (from top to bottom). My novice conclusion is that "Miller Bro`s" is correct.

Thanks Draac,
I think you have a nice knife there.
I also like that booklet you have it placed on. Nice and early.
