case stag handle

I have a case xx ,usa ,with 5 dots--pattern # 3299 1/2 --It is new mint condition unused ..It has very nice stage handles - I purchased it with another 5265 with matching stamping and stag handles..which look correct for this time period.-- there are not that many collecting old knive here in AZ. and it looks to good to be conterfit nor did I pay enough to make it worth while to do that much work..my question could a 32991/2 have stag handles.????I have been collection old pocketknive for since 1963 so it's not my first day .. I have about 2000 old knives and I have never sold any.. My grandkids can do that..Very glad to find this sight--been looking for something like this...I have a lot of neat old knives.. Those are a couple of beauties....

Only my opinion.....
A #3299, as I'm sure you know, is a yellow composition Jumbo Jack. Your knife does have nice stag scales. Therefore.....

A repair such as a master blade swap/replacement is a possibility.

More likely, a rehandle in stag scales is a possibility.
Bob Cargill of Cripple Creek fame was once a Case repairman who could've done nice work like that. Ray Cook was another famous for embellishing Case knives ( I have a 6392 Premium Stock knife that he added 2 blades to, rehandled in stag scales, and repinned the shield. See below.).

A factory error?

Just some food for thought. Hopefully others may chime in with more ideas/information.

Are you a member of the AZ Knife Collectors Association, by any chance?
