I like it; note the blade swedges on the Tidioute.... som'pin different. I also like the newer version of the shield. I'm still on the fence with the steel bolsters and frame though. ::shrug::

Like the swedges, weiny shield,no blade etch,do not like the bone, same version in some figured CocoB could be nice.

Northfield's in Ebony & Snakewood should be sweet, not holding my breath on the Snakewood though :|

That particular example of cocoblo looks rather plain, IMO. Not sure I like the swedges on these.

I like the Northfield red bone, nice shield and the lanyard hole is handy...good swedge on the blade, but the double pull does look a
little out of place on a short blade. The steel bolsters and liners mite add some weight and give the knife a little more strengh...but
for a sweaty guy like me it won't be one I'd carry in the summer....

Two nail nicks on this knife is a squirrely look. Wonder whose bright idea that was. Aah but I forget. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Or in this case, maybe I should say "eye of the knife holder". :)

We know all we'll still buy it.....but the double nail nick does ruin a great design....it should of been left with the long pull only...

The double pulls don't do a thing for me either. I hope the upcoming single blade models are going to have just a single nail nick, either long pull or half-moon. ::hmm::

Monk said: "I really liked the long pull,match-striker pull, that was on the last batch of the bigger knives". I agree and would just add that it was on the blood red 73 as well. Unfortunately, I didn't get one of 'em. ::dang::

What about it Ken and Ryan? Are more long pull matchstrikers in the works? ::pray::

I like the swedge.
The shield is so-so.
Where are the threaded bolsters? If steel means not threaded, then bring back the Nickel-Silver.
I DO NOT like the double pull.
I so DO NOT like the double pull.
I will not buy this knife because of the double pull I so DO NOT like.

Bummer. :(

Not a fan of the double pulls on the Northfields. The cut swedges look a little off to me on both lines as well. I like them otherwise.

I like everything about it, double pull and all. Especially the wood.

Like Monk said - To each his own.

BTW Monk - Thanks for that link. ::tu::

I just realized that without the threaded bolsters, the Northfield has only the shield and double pulls to set it apart …

Which means I might pick up a Tidioute … no double pulls.

… or I might just sit this one out ...
