I plan on being there on Saturday. Does GEC sell special knives at the Rendezvous?

Re: GEC OPEN HOUSE 2011
I just wondered if they made a special run of knives that are only available at the Rendezvous or put out knives not available anywhere else.

MIKE,
I think they are selling 10 a day for 3 days total 30. If not all are sold then they will go to distributors. Should be an Awesome 5th year knife. I wouldn't be surprised if its a ppp on a new pattern.

Your welcome big mike
Don't think it will work this year. It's a conflict with family vacation. Hope everyone has a lot of fun and we get some picture on here.

We will be raffling off one of the new Whaler knives with Red Spiral Cut Buffalo Horn handles (1 of 1). For details, please go to the Great Eastern Cutlery website.

Re: GEC OPEN HOUSE 2011
I'll have a few stories to share, but I won't until I have some good pics taken.
Okay, here's a little story.
I had just spent some great time enjoying the company of my friends (from the other site), when Ryan Daniels walks over. I was introduced to him by Jan, and we shook hands. He mentioned my contribution to the forum and my support of their knives, right then he reached into his pocket. "Do you have a quarter"? he asked, immediately my heart started pounding, I borrowed a coin from my Brother, and handed it to him. The knife I received is a beauty, but you'll have to wait and find out though what it is.
I'm still shell shocked at the generosity shared today, GEC Rocks guys.
My brothers gave me a couple very special gifts as well, but the sound on the roof top says you'll have to wait a while before you get to see them.
P.S.
The gift I got myself ain't too shabby either.
P.S. 2
I have Ryan's pocket knife.

Re: GEC OPEN HOUSE 2011
He's a local that came by each day and bought a knife strictly to double his money on. He took away the chance that someone who may have driven hundreds of miles hoping to buy one because they love GEC might be able to get one.
How many times did he do this? This is the second one he's had on eBay. I hope GEC puts an end to this next year. One per customer period.
He's nothing but a scalper,

Re: GEC OPEN HOUSE 2011
Personally I hope he eats that knife, but I don't believe that will happen. What bothers me most is that (2) people that really wanted an item like this knife missed out. He knew what he was doing, (1) Knife per customer means exactly that. And he didn't want either knife, the plan is to sell them off to some of the folks who really want them at an outrageous price. And then to boast his arrogance with a comment like "Make me an offer, you know you want it." Highlighted in Bold makes me sick.
It could have been a knife or shoe string doesn't matter. Is he a smart man trying to capitalize on a business venture "Yes he is indeed" I give him that but that's some serious scapling.
This is only one humble mans' opinion. I'm sure others do not feel as strongly as myself, and perhaps I overreacted, but I still like to treat others like I would like to be treated myself.

Agreed. Plus he has a business connection with GEC having worked on the CAD program in the design of the knife. Maybe a few emails to GEC would fix it? I hope it eats it too.
