discussion about boker knives?

hi all,

i was looking around the site and have noticed that there isnt any info on boker knives to be found and hardly any discussion on boker knives. im just why? i have always thought that boker tree brand was a top brand name in knives. the ones made in solingen germany anyway.

i have always liked case knives best and as far as an investment, i still think they are the best investment, but i was just wondering if there arent that many people on this site that collect the boker brand or what?

also, would like to know if anyone knows of a good reference for boker knives or if anyone knows if they have any dating sytem such as case has?

Hi Steve,

The lack of Boker related material on the AllAboutPocketKnives website is mostly my fault. I've had several people inquire about various brands and why there is nothing written about them at AAPK. It's because there are so many collectable knives out there, and it is hard to include info about all of them. I personally think that Bokers are great knives, and I would like to someday get some stuff to put on here about them. Maybe someone out there would like to contribute some stuff??? As for the lack of interest on the forum... I don't know. I think maybe it's because people find AAPK when searching for information about Case, Cattaraugus, etc... Naturally, we are prone to attract that crowd as a consequence of having more info about those brands... That is especially apparent when you look at next month's knife drawing vote. I think it is safe to say that we have a lot of Case fans around here...

Hi Steve,
Don't feel left out, I love Boker knives too.I have a Boker fixed blade similar to a Schrade pro hunter that I have for over 20 years now. It is my favorite skinning knife, and has seen alot of work and hope to see more in the future. I love the Boker barlows, when I can find them, but I won't shy away from a congress, a trapper or any thing else boker has made. I guess I have a bug for German knives anyway,so if you want to talk Boker or any other German knife I'll try to keep up.

I just got my first Boker, a stag handled copperhead. It's in my pocket right now. I think I'm a budding fan, especially because I prefer carbon steel blades.

I like the Boker myself, er uh Steve is it? Anyway, I cater to the USA Boker mostly, but any of them with the Solingen Steel are great to me. My Dad always liked Boker's as I remebr growing up so thats probably part of my facination with them.

Id be involved in any Boker discussion. Boker has a great site which covers 3 continents! They are all cousins or brothers who first started the Boker knife tradtion. I have one old one,(pictures at my site) which I am not sure of the date myself.

Bryan, Could you add a Board to the Specialty Section for Boker discussions?

hey im new but i do know a bit about boker. all the soligen knives are high end models but there are also some good models from the boker magnum(taiwan). i think that the best would have to be the boker kal74 auto and non auto. they have a AUS8 blade and aluminum handles and are a great price. i have heard many people say that they are a great user and at 20-30 a piece, its a real nice knife to own. hope this helped

Has anyone ordered from the Boker website ? I just ordered some knives from their closeout pages, and was wondering what the "turnaround" time was from order, to delivery ?
I'd like to thank Hawke for posting the link to Bokers website. I went there to have a look around, and ended up ordering a dozen knives. The prices were hard to resist
