Pair of Fight'n Roosters

Post by jfarmer »

The wife and I went to Parkers knife show over in Pigeon Forge, TN last week and picked up quite a few nice pocket knives. Among them are these two 'Deuces Wild' knives that are #281 of 600. Before we got to Pigeon Forge we stopped off at Lebanon, TN and met Frank and Sterling Buster. They seemed like nice fellows and I really enjoyed meeting them.

Thanks s-k. I am rather proud of my collection. When I first started collecting, I only bought Case knives but lately I have been adding several other brands as well.

Great set of knives James, I agree with SK your collection must be getting to be quite remarkable... ::tu:: Matter of fact let me rephrase that, your collection from what I have seen is already remarkable these will just add to your great collection... :)

I love the jigging on the first knife, IMO that is how jigging is supposed to look on a knife...I had several Fight'n Roosters before selling them off to make room for my Schatt's but I will always have a fondness for the quality and variety of Fn'R knives.

Take care,

Roger, these knives are from the first series of knives that Frank did. The rear tang reads

FRANK BUSTER
CUTLERY
CO
GERMANY

James,

Well now my knifer friend, that means they are among the most collected with this Tang! ....I used to be into most older Tang Stamped Fightn Rooster knives & at one time had over 120 pieces in my personal collection, have sold most these day's except for my Mother of Pearls & the Stags ....By the way, how is Frank (Cuz) doing these day's, a few years back he was having some bad health problems & we (myself & others in the hobby) were very concerned for him?

Very nice Roosters James, thanks for sharing them with us old pard! ::nod::

Roger, I wasn't aware that Frank has had health problems in the past. He seemed like he was doing pretty good last week. We stood out in front of his store last Tuesday night and chatted for a while. He is a very friendly man and I was thrilled to meet him. Sterling is a nice fellow too and I enjoyed meeting him. They have released some new knives recently and my wife bought me one of the new melon testers but she won't let me have it till Christmas.
