Western W49 year?
How can I tell if this is a newer or older model w49? On the sheath it say Coleman/Western and on the knife if says Western USA W49. What is this kind of knife mainly used for? any value?

coleman western would date it between 1983 and 1991 it would go on ebay for $75 or $80 they are good users have good steel in them earlier ones were privately purchased and carried in vietnam and have seen them used for splitting camp fire wood (((what are you getting ready for a sale on ebay with all the questions ))))

Most of my knives were given from my grandfather and have a lot of sentimental value. They are not anything it is just nice to get an idea of how common they are and their worth... Thanks for the info (If i wanted to sell them on ebay I would have posted them on there and not here)
