73 06/07 Primitive Bone?

Post by ambrose »

Hi all, Have a 73 primitive bone. Blade is stamped 2006, it is not listed until 2007 production. I know that GEC used 06 blades on some 07 production knives. My question is the etching on the spine of the blade (1-36). I was told that this is one of 36 knives that were made with the 06 blade. One sold recently on ebay with the same etch(1-36) so it's not a serial number. Someone here I thought I saw that they considered this an actual 06 production. The one on ebay sold 1/8/11 quite abit higher $127.00 than other 06 knives they have higher production numbers. Any info on this knife and what the etch means would be appreciated. Thanks!

Its one of the 06/07 transitions, and there were 36 made.

ambrose....

You'll notice a couple of thing ..the blade is stamped 2006 and 1 0f 36 and the box is Christine's handwriting 2006/2007 which means that the knife ( blade who knows ) was produced in 2006 but not counted ( or finished ) until 2007 ...only one of the transitions knives that I've seen like this...the others have a 2006/2007 tang stamp and not numbered.
And I also have 1 0f 36 too.......

Thanks boggs good info. The best I've got on this. So all 36 knives were numbered 1-36, and they are the only transition knives you know of that don't have a 2007 tang stamp. Do I have this correct? Oh you wouldn't happen to have an extra 2306 Casien you would want to sell?
