Modified Utica

Post by petesknives »

Can't think why someone would've ground down the end of this little Utica like this. Any ideas? Nice knife otherwise I think. Ken

 i misunderstood the question. i can't think of any reason to grind the bolster unless it was damaged and fixed for looks. it would effect the strength of the knife.

Somewhere..........in a box or pile of old less than good knives, I think I have a Utica or Kent with tip bolsters like that one. It has one bolster broken off and looks kinda like yours.
The knife seems to work (as I recall) just looks funky.

does it have a true half stop and is the blade ground as much as the bolster in the closed position?
