Please, help me to identify how old this pocket knife is.
it is a Contento Solingen nautical with an anchor engraved.

::welcome:: to AAPK.

I can't offer a great deal of help on this but I did find a listing in the book, "Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings" showing "CONTENDO MADE IN GERMANY" with a date of operation of approximately 1950-1960. There was no further information provided. That tang stamp is not exactly the same as the one on your knife but I'm pretty confident they are related. Sorry but that was all I was able to come up with.

Depends on which reference book you read. :lol:
I think one source claims 1920-1980, while another claims 1950-1960.
I'm not familiar with the maker, but in just looking at the knife it appears to have iron bolsters and liners which is typical of wartime production.
The shield is pinned on.

I'm getting the vibe of post-WW2.

Perhaps early/mid 1940s to early 1950s ?
