Camillus Mark 2s Tang Stamp? Plus

Can anyone tell me some info on Mark 2 tang stamps. The Viet Nam era ones have "U.S." over "CAMILLUS N.Y.", right? And when did they change to "U.S." over "CAMILLUS?" Or any other info that fits this question if I got something wrong. Thanks.

Also when did they go to the "CamilluS" (lines over & under) stamp on about everything?

Camillus resumed production of the MKII in 1962. My notes say they dropped the "N.Y." in February 1974, but I forgot to cite the source.

So, as a general rule, subject to revision as needed and exceptions as they surface, WWII MK II blades will be marked with the manufacturer and the service branch for which they were produced ("USN" or "USMC"), on either the blade or tang. Production stopped with the end of the war, and resumed in 1962. From 1962-1974, they were blade marked

U.S.
CAMILLUS, N.Y.

From then on they were marked
U.S.
CAMILLUS

Hope that clarifies things a bit (or maybe it stirs up the mud!).

Keep in mind that this applies to the MKII only; other military fixed blades were marked differently.
