Case Knife Help - Model 200 Cherokee?

Post by DeLuxInterior »

I got a Case knife today I'm unfamiliar with. It says Case xx 200 Cherokee. I can't find much on it anywhere. Can anyone tell me a little about these? Any idea of what it's worth? The only place I could find online about these showed a picture of three Case knives all with names of Indian tribes. Thanks.

Case introduced a series of three sheath knives, the Cherokee, Apache, and Cheyenne, circa 1964-1965. They were among the first stainless steel hunting knives offered by Case, and they were designed to compete with knives made by the (then) upstart Buck Knives. These three knives were made through the early to mid 1980's when they were discontinued.

Worth money or should I sharpen it and start using it? I'm actually hoping for the latter. Thanks.

I'm not up on sheath knife values...what is the tang stamping?

If mint with the original sheath and box, it may be worth from $75 to $125.

Thanks. It's 90-95% with original sheath. Sheath is 100%. I think I'll use it. I appreciate the info. Only stamps are Case XX Stainless USA on one side and 200 on the other, with Cherokee etched on the blade.
