(I have to say these kits make a great platform for customizing at a great price point and are of really nice quality)
In order to use the drop point blade I had to convert it to a two piece spring system instead of the commonly used 1 piece. The one piece extended to far forward for the DP blade and it would hit the spring. In addition to the spring mod, I also installed a bronze bushing in the blade and used 1/8th inch stainless pins for the blade and spine pivot, so it looks exactly like the real thing. The bolsters are spot welded on and they are pretty tight with only a few very small gaps on the edges.
Anyway here it is, it turned out really nice and is made in the USA from imported and domestic parts.
It has not been buffed yet, still have to sand a bit with 320 and 400 before it hits the buffer.
