Question on the Cold Steel Recon 1 clip point, fine edge

Post by kingwill »

I am considering buying a Cold Steel Recon 1. However, I would like this to be a do-everything knife, so I definitely want it to be able to whittle. I am not considering using it as a dedicated, or very good, "whittling knife" (the most I would do is perhaps make a little cross with some wavy carved stuff in it). Do you guys think that the blade is too long and/or thick and/or wide for this?

I have always thought that usually carving blades are thin and on the smaller side.
