Tell me something about this knife

Post by nmikash »

I was just wondering if anyone can tell me about when this knife was produced. It has nice honey brown bone handles, grooved bolsters and the main blade is etched "schrade super sharp." I don't think it is very old, but I have not seen any others like this. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.
Thanks ::tu::
Nick

Hi nmikash.

That is nice looking bone on that knife. Looks like the most recent tang stamp before Schrade USA went out of business in 2004. I believe the + symbol indicates that it is stainless steel. My blue bone stockman in the stockman thread has the exact same marking. Just been back through that thread and there are some stockmans with handles and bolsters very similar to yours. Check them out. :) s-k

That style (with threaded bolsters and jigged bone) was produced for the Classic series, the 100th anniversary, or possibly for filling some special orders, I believe. I've seen them with different shields, and without shields. Probably done around 2003-2004. They are usually very nice, with good fit and finish...and that one looks like a nice one. ::tu::
