repairing a john primble belknop 4 blade pocket knife

i'm not a knife collecter per se. However i do have several old knives i inherited from my father-in-law that i use for wooworking. one knife in particular, a jon primble belknap ..... 4 blade pocket knife, needs some repair. one scale is missing and two of the blades spring backward a few degrees past 180 when used. i can probably repalace the scale if i knew the wood species. the model number, i believe, is 5514. this is marked on the opposite side of the blade with the company stamp, and has a 5 pointed star underneath it. so, i need the help of someone out there to guide me in completing the repairs. would these be too difficult for a novice to do? if so, who of you are experienced professional knife repairers that could do this for me? what woods were used on that model? help me all yu obi-wan-kenobe's out there. you're my only hope (sort of).

It is hard to what the problem may be without seeing a picture of the whole knife and closeups oh the problem areas.
