I love the Executive, and my other small Bucks

Hey all, new guy here, in WV. I'm not really an executive, but I play one at work, heheh. I've been carring my Executive now for 17 yrs., and its my all time favorite pocket knife. Due to wearing dress pants in the business world & carrying other items in pants pockets, and space/weight concerns when bicycling, hiking, etc., I've always been attracted to the smallest, lightest, yet dependable locking knife I could find. The Buck Knight, and moreso the Executive (now the Gent I believe), are wonderful IMO.

In fact, when I thought I lost my Exec. a week ago for a day, the ordeal prompted me to seek and find an old '87 Exec as a spare......bought it cheap, and waiting for it to arrive. I'm thinking of experimenting & polishing the brushed handle to a high gloss. Has anyone tried this?

The blades on these were mirror high gloss, but mine's stained and scratched from sharpening, but it sure holds an edge. It has impressed many folks in hundreds of situations over the yrs.

Does anyone know when & why the Executive was discontinued? The Gent replacement isn't quite the same.

yeah they are cool - I just picked these up the last couple days.
I have a ton of 110's but these are my only small bucks and I am startin to really like them.

The #303 is the right carry size for me when i wanna dress light. Shown here with its two bigger brothers, #301 and #307. But fact is all BUCKs are cool.

I just received my extra Executive today, a 1987, and its in great shape. I've already started sanding the brushed area down with 600 grit..... as I work my way up to 2000 grit, and finish with Mothers polish, it will end up shining up to a mirror finish, as the blade already is...... will post pics soon.

Nice knives folks. Thanks for posting the pics. Here are a couple pics of my 2 Executives. I just got the new one (1987) and it was a bit scratched up, so I decided to polish it out. I've had the '93 since new, and it's a little beat up, and been sharpened many times, as evidenced by the narrower blade, but a great dependable knife for when you must travel light. Very happy to have found a good spare, and for dirt cheap.

By your description of your everyday carry needs you may be interested in trying something like one of theses. They hang from your belt and rest against the back side of front pocket, along the pant seam. Almost can't be told you have a knife., except for the belt strap. I make my own but I have purchased a couple and I will give you address if wanted.

I now am using leather sheaths I buy and weaving high strength SpiderWire bass fishing line into a loop. Almost invisible.

Hey thx 300Bucks, sure, I'd like the info about the belt loop sheath, they look very cool.

Is that small one a Lancer? The Lancer was my first Buck, then I went to the lockbacks. The Knight and Exec. work great for me, but I am branching out and starting to get interested in getting some other styles.

Buck is mostly known, of course, for their bigger models, but the smaller ones are also great.
Sometimes it's amazing how much can be accomplished with a small blade!
