Corn Razors, Anyone?

Post by RobesonsRme.com »

Anybody here collect corn razors?

I've received an E-mail, via my Robeson website, from a guy that has acquired a group of corn razors, none of which appear to be Robeson or Terrier; go figure.

Looked to be about a dozen or so pieces. No photos, as yet.

I'll post the info here, or have the man come to AAPK and post it himself, if anyone wishes.

Wullie, it has a special blade shape for cuttin' corns off yer feet.
Don't have a razor, but here's a knife with the same shape.

BTW, if you happen upon a corn knife, chances are it is 1930s or older. Folks started going with less risky ways to remove corns after that.

Willie;
Here's a little Robeson corn razor. They're much smaller than a regular razor.

I posted these in another thread but figured I might as well put them here.A bunch of corn knives and razors including a money clip with a functioning(but non sharp)miniature straight razor on it.

Learned sump'n new today! ::tu::
Mystery solved.

I was raised on wheat farms and cattle ranches. We bought what little corn we used. I was at a loss as to what the heck you could do to or for a stalk or ear of corn with those damn things. :roll:

Thanks gents,

I have been collecting corn razors for about 30 years, and I am always looking for unique ones that are reasonably priced! I probably have about 50 different ones.

Don't collect, but have one Waterville/Cutlery Co. It has a small repair bottom end, well done.
