A question re: military knife

While on a typical knife expedition I Saw some machetes setting in a barrel. I asked to look at and it was okay however they were not for sale.
My question one had approx a 15" blade, the handle was missing but I read something that has plexed me since, Where the tang would be it was marked Tru Temper under US and over 1945. That was the only marking. Has anyone heard or read of one of these in the past. Thanks for any help received.

By that spelling of Tru...I'm blanking.
If it were True Temper, they are/were makers of Garden tools (like rakes... )...and steel golf shafts.

Okay I concede, My memory may have been incorrect, However I am sure enough that I will try to contact the fella this week and get a picture or trade for it. Who knows, I might just trade the dead red rake shed stag handled home made machete if he is agreeable.

When the shed was discovered was it near a tree of any sort. pinion pine,
yucca, telephone,power etc. How far up said growth was the rub from animal that dropped the shed. The size might just be a tell.

"The Rub" was about 12' up on an all metal streetlight...that's how I knew it was a remarkable shed...well, that and the price tag.
But, never mind the facts about Sambar deer, or any of that stuff...it hasn't stopped anyone else, my friend.
