I have been watching it but that's about all I can afford to do. I can't find much info on this pattern no.

That is a pattern # 06267....it was made from the Tested era through about 1967. Tha one is probably an older XX since it has long pull. Looks to have been cleaned with some blade loss.

Kinda reminiscent of a half whittler, huh?? I need some good knife books, as well. What's the best one out there??

Well here are a few good ones ::tu:: You can go to Knife World and they have some great books also some stuff that are out of print no longer published expect to pay top dollar price for some of these books :shock:
