A custom buck 112

Here is a buck 112 that I finished up yesterday. I removed the rear bolsters, so everything was flush in the rear, I rounded the front bolsters (it is a 2 dot '70's with flat bolsters). I reprofiled the blade to a drop point. I used mulberry root with a hand rubbed boiled linseed oil finish for handles. The root didn't turn out as nice as I would have liked, due to it's poorus nature I couldn't get it as smooth as I had liked. I harvest most of my own wood. Walnut, loucust, osage, mulberry, sumac ect. It saves me a little money, but I stepped in to a woodworking store today and got to looking at zebra wood, cocobolo, bocote, ect and I kindagot to likin' that bocote, I may have to go back and buy a piece of it, or just fool around with the desert ironwood I have coming. I think i'll make a big brother 110 in desert ironwood.

Have you ever heard of anyone making one out of citrus wood??? I have seen several bowls and eating ware made out the wood and it looks really great, I wonder if it "wood" (pun intended) work as a knife scale???

Thanks guys, Haven't ever used citrus wood, the scales are attached with devcon 2 ton epoxy.
