Removing "slack" in blades

Am new to the forum and have zero experience fixing pocketknives. I have a Schade ss825 and an 825 that have alot of "slack" in the longest blades. Is there a way to take the slack out of these blades without disassembling the knives?

slack meaning what? play side to side, up and down, not snapping??????

side to side slack on one and the other has side to side and up and down.

It sounds like the Swinden Rivets are loose.
It will need to be taken apart, the Swinden Rivets removed and replaced with pins through the bolsters.
A fairly easy fix, just a bit time consuming.

If it is done right, you won't be able to tell the difference except the blades will be tight.

It would be nice to have a tutorial on Swinden Keys made as a sticky and then lock the post so that it does not get lost. Just a thought, but that seems to be how some tutorials get lost - from the replys. It would be a good idea for other tutorials also.

Dale, you did instruct how to take apart a knife with the Swenden Rivets in one of your tutorials. That will save me alot of mistakes. I appreciate the heads up, as I didn't know these knives used the Swenden Rivets.
