new to collecting

Post by nextgen »

Hello all. I've just registered with this site, but have been reading around for the past week or so. I just recently started to get into collecting knives, thanks to my dad. ::tu:: I'm starting out with newer model knives, mostly Case. My pockets or my knowledge are not deep at all right now for the older knives. So I'm sticking with what I can afford, what I like and what I can pick up without having to decide if it is a fake or not. Those times will come eventually.

I have a question while I'm at it. I'm sure it probably has been answered before though. I've read around on here on how to clean knives, but most of the topics have been restoration of older knives. What if any suggestions do you guys have for newer knives, especially stainless steel blades?

Thought I'd drop a line to say hello. Glad I found this site and look forward to getting more useful info.

Hello and WELCOME to AAPK.

I am so glade you started collecting knives. Your dad helped some how, but your did not say.

Place your cleaning question in Knife Related Q&A I will help you in there. Thats a good place to ask.

The more you check in the more you will learn and it is all FREE.

I like it that your starting out slow and with some thinking before you buy. BOOKS help a lot.
