A great problem to have

Well, I've sold a few knives on ebay, and I have a couple hundred bucks burning a hole in my pocket. I think I'm down to two contenders for what I'm going to blow it on -- a Dan Burke Cattle Knife from Queen, or the Scagel Folder 3rd Edition also by Queen.

I've kind of fallen into collecting equal end cattle knives, Railsplitters and the like, so the DB Cattle Knife will go well with what I've already got. However, I've heard so many rave reviews of the Scagel Folders I'm strongly tempted to go in that direction.

Fact is, I'll probably wind up with both eventually, but does anyone have any opinions which one it should be first?

I would have to go with the Scagel first just because of the character it seems to show...I like your specific area of what your collecting, those models jump out at me...

If you have a hard time deciding what to do with that money burning holes in your pocket I will gladly give you my paypal address to take the burden off you...

I appreciate that. I really do. However, I think I'll just try to suck it up and spend it all myself.

I think I'm leaning in the direction of the Scagel too. Plus it's quite a bit cheaper than the DB Cattle Knife for some reason.

I just got my Ivory Scagel and am pleasantly surprised at how beefy andnice it is. I would recommend this one (The Ivory) because of the low run,only 50 pcs, I think Vintage Knives .com has only one or 2 left. I am sure the Dan Burke is sweet, but you can get one of those later on if you wish. You will not be disappoinjted with the Scagel,promise. You may also be able to obtain a first-run stag from the same seller. Just my opinion,does anyone have a Burke they can comment on? The Scagel is a beefy handful, and the quality is handmade.

Thanks Glenn. The consensus is definitely with the Scagel, and I actually already put in my order for the stag version from Cumberland Knife Works. I've seen the ivory one from Vintageknives.com, and it certainly is a thing of beauty. I didn't want to spend quite that much though and the sambar stag goes well with some other knives I have.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I actually started out leaning toward the Dan Burke, but I'm glad I went with the Scagel. I'm sure I'll wind up with the Dan Burke eventually. There's another DB/Queen collaborative equal ender that I believe just came out. It has one blade and smooth sambar stag scales. That one's definitely on my list too.
