Winchester by Buck

Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the infamous Model 110 Folding Hunter. The company's innovative history and attention to quality have made for many great collectible knives.

Winchester by Buck

Post by Paladin »

I just bought a group of knives and in the group is a Buck, 301 USA. On the shield it is stamped Winchester.
I don't do much with Buck and thought someone here might be able to tell me the approx date of manufacture and value. It is mint with a few scratches on the bolsters.

Paladin,
Thats one of the mystery 300 series projects that Buck did years ago. The only info I have on it is that there was also a 311 Trapper with the same logo shield. I am guessing that they were done in the 1970's. Do you happen to have the paperwork, the Use and Care leaflet might help narrow down the date somewhat.

Joe,
Thanks for signing in on this.
To answer question; no, no paperwork of any kind. The knife was loose in a batch of knives I got from a collector.
I was told by someone that it was made in 1981 and only 3000 were made. I am not sure where that info came from, just don't remember. I feel sure it would not be as valid as your's though.
I wish I could tell you more but I have very limited info.
