Northwoods TG-1

My new Northwoods TG-1, from "Forensic Jim" Davidson of Raisin River Knives. I sure you know he doesn't really sell knives...he suggests them. He's got beautiful knives, his service is great, and he's a really nice guy. I have used him repeatedly.

Specs
Blade Steel: either 1095 or A2
Blade Length: 4.75"
OAL: 9 1/2"
Blade Width: 1 3/8"
Blade Thickness: 1/4"
Blade Grind: Zero convex saber, unsharpened swedge

Its a small camp, hunter/skinner. The convex grind will make it easy to maintain in the field and reduces the risk of the edge rolling. The carbon steel is tough, should take an edge easily, and should not chip if a bone is hit. Finish and balance are great, it's "sharp out of the box," its great looking, its utility is not limited by a top guard, and the sheath is very well built. Most of those are characteristics I think any high-quality outdoor knife should have.

What really sold me on the knife is the quality to price ratio. Its amazing. Dave Shirley up at Northwoods always puts out a very high quality product at a incredibly reasonable price. I love expensive knives, but I'm too poor to own them and too cheap to use them. This is an incredibly functional knife that I can use without any hesitation. I'm incredibly happy with it.

Thanks Dave and Jim!

Thanks, justold! Thats a fine looking Mini-Skinner you got.

You know...I try to stay away from Jim...but eventually he sucks me back in. He's devious.
