Schrade Info?

I thought I would take advantage of the recent influx of Schrade experts. I would appreciate any info you have on this Schrade Walden pen knife. Thanks s-k

Sorry, I can't tell you anything about it you probably don't already know, I just thought it was a great looking schrade. I have a similar knife minus the bolsters/shield and much more used- still snaps like a trap though.

Looks like a model 742. Was offered in 'Propwood', Genuine Stag, black composition, 'marine pearl' and various celluloids, like this beauty. I like those little tip bolsters, and the knife looks to be in great condition. Nice find of a true gentleman's knife! Thanks for showing it off here.

The 742 was a Safety Push Button knife. it's Schrade Cut Co. number was 7405. This knife seems possibly be a #777 Senator pattern if it is 2 7/8", with maize cell handles, which also came with K-horn cell (#775), and marine pearl handles (#776). According to the 1953 catalog, it has stainless blades and spring, nickle silver tips, shield, and linings.
I am pretty sure it has a much earlier listing, but I cannot find the stainless/maize cell combo in the "Catalog E" this morning. SCC, as you know, was pre-1946. The war years production was pretty well dedicated to military knives, and the Catalog E covers 1926-1938.

PS- there were several different sizes of Senators made over the years, so it helps to know the length!

Hi Codger_64. Thanks very much for the info . There is no model number anywhere. The knife is approximately 3 1/4 inches long. s-k
