Part of my Collection Warning Picture intense

Post by mightyhunter »

Sunday evening I finally started going through some of the boxes in the spare bedroom from moving a year or so ago and unpacked a few frames of my arrowheads and took some pics for ya'll to view. Hope you enjoy, not all of them are perfect and I'd say 90percent of what you see are ground finds, the pot's I bought from a man that worked for the corps of engineers in the 50's that dug them up when they were putting in some roads through the state. The trade pipes were purchased just because I thought they are neat to look at and have alot of history behind them as are the long stem dutch trade pipes. The rest of the stuff came off of living mounds around a 75 mile radius of where I live. Somewhere of around 85% of the points are whole as made by the tribes that left them. My favorites are the "pinetree points" and the bannerstone, they are so rare to find. Still have several more frames that maybe someday I will get around to posting pics. Gotta go through all this stuff and document and catagorize for insurance purposes. Most everything dates back to the"Paleo and Archaic Period" 8000bc-1000bc. Gonna try to put this in a slideshow so you won't have to click on so many links. Hope this work's! Ronnie Image
