Case Stag Bulldog Knife

Post by TheClasp »

Hi everybody and a good evening to all!
Here's a couple of pics of *one* of my favorite knives. I have *many* favorites actually... too many I think. This knife is referred to as a third generation Case Bulldog, manufactured in the '65-'69 or "USA" era. This was before Case used the system of dots to indicate the year of manufacture. Anyway, my first purchase of this model was sometime in 1966. At that time we just used these knives as an EDC. The knife pictured was not used though, I purchased it much more recently, I know better now!

At this time I collect clasp knives just about exclusively, as you can tell by my nick  I will post more pics, I like Schrade and Ka-Bar clasps too, so I will put some of them up here too. I hope you enjoy looking at these knives as much as I enjoy showing them off.

P.S. The lines on the blades are from the ceiling tiles in my house. A good friend of my is helping me with the photographic technique, but I'm learning...

Nothing left to do but :) :) :)

Man, that is a really nice knife. How much does one of those cost anyway?

Hello again, and thank you JOE62, I really like the handles too!

To answer newbie's question, I guess it just depends on the "market". I think it was about $20.00 when it was new, but sadly, that wouldn't buy the box it came in, at this time. The Pocket Knife Trader's Price Guide by Jim Parker lists this knife at $350.00 with box. A very nice example with the box, cardboard sleeve, and the 'care and handling paper' will bring much more. I saw one sell a couple of days ago on e-bay for $460.00. I hope this helps...

A great looking knife Clasp!!! I have always admired clasp knives but I seem to be on the short end of actually owning one ::tear::

I have made several bids on different auctions but just have come short everytime...I love the beautiful stag on this knife and the quality does show up in the picture...

Thanks for sharing.

Oh yeah did I mention that the Bulldog etch on the blade makes it a keeper for me regardless of what scales it has...

Hi Sunburst,
Well if you like the Bulldog etch on the blade, as I do, I think you will like the pics of the Case Classic Bulldog knives that were posted to the "Case Classics" forum on this site.

At this time I would like to thank the owners of All About Pocket Knives for having such a fine place for like-minded souls to get together and freely communicate about the hobby. Bravo!
