Case Knives not in the guides.

Hello, this is my first post. I recently purchased a bunch of case 10 and 9 DOT knives. Several do not show up in the guides or show up as being issued several years later. How accurate are the guides?

I think they are fairly accurate. One book will not have everything a company makes.

Glad to have you join us here. Can you post some pictures of your newly aquired knives and show closeup views of the tang stamps? There are guys here that know a ton about knives (sadly I'm not one of them). I'm sure if there is a knife you can't find in your guide there will be someone here that can help you with some info.

Hi Michael and welcome aboard! I assume that you are referring to 1970 and 1971 knives when talking about 9 and 10 dots. If so, I'd be quite surprised if they're not listed in Parker's Guide. There weren't that many patterns made in those years and no sets to speak of so most all of the guides have those years covered well.

You will find some missing patterns starting in the 80's up through current years. It's become very difficult to cover a lot of the more modern knives. In fact, within a couple of more years it will be almost impossible to cover all of the Case knives made in a given year. Between Specials, Sets, SFO's and other oddballs, I don't know anyone who can keep up with them at present
