If you all could narrow down your 2 favorite knife companies, considering quality, look, fit and finish, etc... Which two would you chose?? I hope to get a lot of replies on this one, very curious what a couple of you all will pick.

Mine would be; Bruckmann (German) and Ulster Knife Co. (USA)

well.... it would have been Case and Schrade - but we all know what happen to Schrade

I guess right now, it's Case and GEC - but I think Boker Treebrand makes good traditional folders for the money (they would be my third)

I wish Remington and Buck would offer a larger line of quality traditional folders made here in the US - but I think those days are over

Well if i had to choose two, I would choose any german made, and usa Boker.

tough choice.....I guess vintage Case (pre '64) and Schrade.
Of the modern era, it would be Canal Street and Great Eastern.

Old New York Knife Co. knives and pre 1940 Remington knives. Their quality would be hard to match.

Well, i mainly only collect case bros, platts and the older winchesters. i guess i'd drop the winchesters, because for me, its all about very old knives that are hard to find! sure they usually cost more, but theres not as many off them either. believe me, i'd stay broke if i bought every knife i like, because i like way too many!

In current production models I choose Kershaw for Tacticals and Great Eastern Cutlery for a general pocket knife.

There are other brands that I like a lot but these are my first choices.

so far scrade seems to be very popular, I also like schrade and New York Knife Co.

Well, I have given this some thought and a newer Buck 110 with S30V steel or an older one with 440C (I don't like the current 420 HC SS nor the 425M used in the early 80's - late 70's) and a German slipjoint like an older (1st generation Cowboy's Pet, a stockman) Bulldog or an old German Eye.

Yep, I'm picky - particular about my steels.

Though I wouldn't mind a small bird and trout knife custom made of course with either A2 or D2 steel either.

Lot's of great bling out there to collect. If I had to pick users, it would be Schrade USA and the new darling, GEC. Of course I would not dare to mention Ruana fixed blades on this forum.

Two best considering current production:
First Generation Bulldog and Fight'n Rooster.
I have some recent Case and almost everyone has been a disappointment, even after returning to the factory.

Do you have a photo of your last current production of a Bulldog First Generation ? and when was she made ?

Sad to hear of your poor Case knives, but your not the only one that feels this way. I like to make sure they are made before 2000.
