I jumped on a Black Friday deal at the Hopeless Despot to get a new toy. I have no idea why I needed it, but I get a heck of a deal!

Yeah, I wanted to dip my toe in the 12 volt Milwaukee line. For what I do around the house, I really don't think I need more than that. They have other 12 volt tools I have my eye on - like the rotary tool (their equivalent of a Dremel) and a reciprocating saw.

Thank you cudgee, it dates back a few years and has not been abused. A good tool.

I went for the DeWalt tools,
I like the 12 volt drill for small jobs, and use it the most. I use 14.4 volt units for drilling and driving.
For hard going, my angle grinder and recuperating saw - use 54 volt batteries.

This piece of scrubery in our small swamp turned a pleasing red overnight. Our "swamp" is just a very wet area at the bottom of our slope.

As Rocky The Squirrel would say, "And now for something a little different".

Pictures of my Great-Nephew, my Great-Grandsons and the knifes I gave them just for being born so dad-gummed cute. Yeah, they're all Rough Rider small fixed blades. I told the parents to keep them and give the knife to them when they feel the boys are old enough to have them. I'll probably be dead and gone by that time but it's fun to think about.

My Great-Nephew Bryson Kayde Nayman, now a year and a half old.

My first born Great-Grandson Lincoln Brian Mohr, now a year and a half old.

My second born Great-Grandson Jayden Luke-Angel Downen Jr, now a month and a half old.

I was looking for pocket knives at an antique store today, and found none within my price range. But I did find this cool folding button hook! It was manufactured by JLS of Newark (hadn't heard of them before today), and a patent date of April 1903. It looks like April 1 on this light imprint, but pictures of others online show April 14.

That does more than pull buttons through buttonholes
Anybody know the functions of the large end of the handle? Looks kind of like a cap-lifter, but I don’t think that’s what it is.

Ditto on the hole at the end. I suspect there is a functionality there, as well.

It’s a multi-tool of some sort.

Charlie,
Lookin' at the Reverand's folding button hook, don't you think the cut out is for grasping the blade to swing it from the frame? Other wise it would be cover over. ::shrug::
