Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
I still remember camping as a family, and my parents had Coleman everything. Lantern, stove, cooler, etc. I think the canvas tent was Coleman also! That musty tent smell!
I remember the scientific engineering wizardry of burning in new mantles on the lantern, and also pumping up the fuel tanks on that and the stove. And the little funnel with the felt in the bottom.
Dang, such good memories. I have a Coleman lantern, but it's propane. Not the same...

Musty tent smell.. You made me chuckle Glenn.. Was in the Boy Scouts and when we did camp-outs the tent had the familiar stink..
The memories..

Ditto, on all that Glenn! The Coleman stuff, from our youth still works; or, occasionally needs a new rubber seal. The last few Coleman products I ever bought, were junk and you certainly couldn't buy replacement parts for them. I swore off Coleman a few years back. Sad that a company that sold quality goods, couldn't continue a tradition that got them there.

Just found this photo in a local paper that i have delivered into my inbox. Just liked the innocence of it, and thought i would share it on the forum. Hopefully it will bring you as much joy as it brought me in these difficult and uncertain times. Hope you all have a good and safe weekend.

Sweet picture Cudgee.
Ken I don't have a lantern as old as yours but I do have one that was new when I was a boy fifty plus years ago and it still works. So do the other two I own and all three are the type that burn only Coleman fuel. I've also got a couple of Coleman stoves and a Coleman cooler I bought when I first discovered beer. It's been refurbished but still does its job admirably. Those old Coleman products were hard to beat.

Here's an amusing little sticker on a knife box:
I have a hard time figuring this out.
Maybe the part about reproductive harm makes sense. Lorena Bobbit came to mind but the cancer part baffles me.
Our friend that lost his wife a couple of months back has a standing invitation to have dinner (noon meal) with us on Thursdays as it is our work day and another plate at the table isn't a problem. Walt and his wife were a very generous couple and apparently he is continuing the tradition in her absence. He brought us a big watermelon and gave me a new Case filet knife yesterday. Good friends are such a blessing! Keep Walt in your thoughts and prayers as he adjusts to life with out Miss Camille.

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
That's basically a CYA sticker that goes on damn near everything destined to be sold in Commiefornia or "might" get sent to the state. The state, in its infinite ignorance, passed a law that requires the warning on products that contain substances on a very long list of "stuff" the state has decided could cause cancer or reproductive diseases.treefarmer wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 1:45 pm Here's an amusing little sticker on a knife box:001.JPG

While originally designed to let people know that a possible carcinogen was included in a product (think pesticides), the way the law was applied has resulted in the law being useless to the point of being ludicrous.

Was taking a picture of the only Case I have amongst my EDC's & this little guy popped in & out quicker than I could even register it. Realized it first, when I looked
at the picture.
