Good Mornin', Dave and others stopping by the 1st cup diner.
Kinda warm this morning, 77⁰. The rain is way up in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina moving away from us. :( Maybe later today. ::shrug::
Yard and garden work continues, almost time to start mowing again. A grocery run will probably take place sometime today and church this evening.
Hope y'all have a great day.

Morning folks, 61 was the low may top out in the middle 70's. Poured out a inch of rain water out of the gage this morning, had a couple of loud claps of thunder last evening.
Wampus hadn't shown last I looked but I expect he's sleeping in.
Got enough yard work for two, but I'll have to go it alone as the boss isn't up to snuff.
Guess I didn't hit submit yestiddy, didn't have nothing worth talking about anyway.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Morning dudes.

It's 40 and raining out. We had to turn the heat back on 2 days ago. Great day to just be inside and watch it rain. Which is fine because I've got one boy that's kind of sick, one that's sick, and one that's really sick. I myself feel about 75%. Rest and recovery is on the agenda today. Which is, however, most unfortunate. You see, today my wife turns 35. The boys and I had a surprise party planned with piñatas, decorations, a special mousse cake from a local bakery, pokè bowls for dinner and an outing to a local arborist store that offers a terrarium building experience. She's understanding though, she said it's ok to postpone until the weekend. She's home and I work on the weekends, so that doesn't really work. She's the best thing that ever happened to me and my sons love her fiercely. They're pretty protective of her even though they're 6 4 & 4. I think we're going to have Wheaties and glasses of suck-it-up for breakfast and make this special day happen for the matriarch. Now I feel about 70%. I'm going to have another pot of coffee and 2 whole grams of vitamin C.

LET'S GOOOOO! ::super_happy::

Good morning knifers.
We’re in the Same wet and rainy pattern as DJ Dave and Zach so not much outdoor activity today. We also turned the a/c off and heat back on 2 days ago . Went out on our friends pontoon the other night and it was not pleasant so we said the fishing can wait and high tailed it back to Larry’s lakeshore home . We seen over a dozen blue herons all different birds while out less than an hour. We will see 2 maybe 3 in an outing on Lake Altoona but that many in such a short time is not common . Several were very colorful .
Zach, hope you all get feeling better soon. Happy Birthday to your Wife !
You all have a great day out there .

Good Mornin', the diner is open. ::handshake::
60⁰ this morning, our big rain event took a dive and went below our part of the world yesterday. Had a few sprinkles around 10am and that was it. :( I stayed home and worked as Miss Joy made the grocery run to the circus aka Walmart.
Workday today, venison stew is on the menu. A sirloin tip and 2 tri-tips have been in the crock pot since midnight, will add red potatoes, carrots and onions in a few minutes. Will be ready by noon.
Miss Joy's 2 sisters and one of her brothers will be here late Friday afternoon. The gals will stay with us and her brother will leave Saturday morning to visit a daughter a couple of hours west of us. Should be an interesting week-end.
Coffee's about served! Y'all have a great day!

Good morning Phil and all who wander in. 38 to start the day and will get up to 60 without the nasty wind that messed with us for two days. We got the deck we are refinishing ready for a finish coat. Tiger wood makes for a nice hard deck, but it's a pain the refinish. Now it has to sit and dry for a couple days. Jason got a call while I was at church last evening from a neighbor cabin. The owner had a 1&1/2 story garage built two years ago with an upstairs bathroom that he kept heated. Most people with seasonal cabins shut them down and drain the water for the winter months. The power to the garage went out last winter and he didn't think anything had frozen and burst. He was wrong and didn't realize it until he tried to open his overhead door and found out the water saturated ceiling was sitting on his garage door. Jason went over there, fixed the leak which was a burst valve under the bathroom sink and then pushed the ceiling paneling boards off the overhead door under them so they could open the overhead door. The ceiling is insulated and will all need to come down to get it to dry out without molding and a new one put up. At least in a garage, it's not as serious as in a house with finished rooms under where all the finished walls need to be opened up to dry out. It's probably a several thousand dollar fix instead of closer to ten thousand or more. The owners insurance company will need to decide if they want a licensed bonded union company fix it, or if they will let us do it. Some insurance companies don't mind paying twice what we charge for union workers, and some love working with us. Many times I've had to go in after a union shop messes up a job and do it right at the owners expense. The sunshine coming in through my living room window sure is a welcome sight after a week or two of overcast dreary days. Have a good Thursday.____Dave

Good Morning. Sunny and cool right now. Our storm fallen tree has been cut up and converted to firewood or dragged to the burn pile.

In a few minutes I'll be joined for coffee by a neighbor.

Still haven't found Philco.

Here I is Garry. ::tu::

I came through the recent tornado outbreak unscathed. My heart goes out to all those who lost homes, lost loved ones, and were left terrified by those horrific twisters. With that being said, I sure am grateful that I'm a RETIRED insurance adjuster. I'd hate to be wading my way through hundreds of claims right now. The most recent wave of stormy weather produced what appeared on radar to be a tornado. It passed right over my area but fortunately did little more that prune a few trees. I've seen no evidence it ever touched down. Praise God for that!

Morning folks, 56 was the low heading to the upper 70's
They're talking upper 40's tonight.
Wampus was in fine fettle this morning on his throne surveying his domain awaiting breakfast to be served.
I had to cook breakfast for the boss and I, just bacon for a vine ripened mater samidge, hers with that nasty mayo, mine with that sweet miracle whip.
Finished putting my wind blown limbs on the burn pile and cut a couple of low hanging limbs that was aggravating me when am mowing, speaking of which I'll get on the zt soon as the dew dries off. I've got a small stack of wood cut up for the son's fire pit.
Glad to hear my Ky. Neighbor came through the storms unscathed.
Praying for the ones not so fortunate.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Yes, I’ve been MIA for awhile. Busy with work, spent a couple of days fighting a nasty case of vertigo and getting ready for company for the long weekend. Son and his lady are enroute from Branson and daughter will join us later in the weekend. Did a lot of advance food prep and house cleaning of course.
After 5 days of summer last week, it has been in the 50’s and about 5 inches total of rain. Need sunshine to dry the ground for the big outdoor flea markets this weekend.

This is a good place to rekindle the debate about mayonnaise brands. ::stir::
Seems like we've been through this before. ::hmm::
My vote goes to Dukes mayonnaise, nothing more nothing less.

Good morning knifers .
Coffee is tasting mighty fine this morning .
If traveling for the holiday please be safe . We usually stay close to home on the long holiday weekends.
We’re a Mayo family here . What was the majority during last conversation here several years ago. Mayo or dressing ?
Should get out the mower and get caught up around here the next few days .
But first another cup o coffee and maybe a little reading to ease into this Memorial Day weekend.
Enjoy your day out there !

Good Mornin'!
Cool this morning, 60⁰, the sun is just hitting the tallest pines west of the house.
Probably a big push getting ready for company coming in this afternoon. I was asked to retrieve 2 bags of frozen pumpkin from the shop freezer last night. Making Pumpkin bread and 2 pies are on the agenda this morning.
Workday went well yesterday.
I need to get some gas for the mower and some off-road diesel for the tractor before long.
Coffee's about to be served. ::tu::
Y'all enjoy the day.

Morning folks, 48 was the official low, suppose to top out around 70. I had the boss wash my old barn jacket the other day and put it away for the summer, twas too quick on the trigger I reckon.
Wampus hadn't showed last I looked figure he ain't in no hurry to leave his warm spot.
Buddies day at Hooters, always enjoy the shooting the bull with my buds.
Well well here I find a bunch of my first cup Buddies have absolutely no taste when it comes to the finer things of life. ::stir:: ::clapping:: I just have to bring this up now and again when I get a chance.
