Good morning fellow knifers .
Coffee and a quiet moment or two is just what is needed today.
Chris are you feeling better ?
Been a long last 7 days . Pops has been in ICU at Luther Mayo since last week and it’s really wearing on Mom . She doesn’t drive anymore and have been shuttling her around and to the hospital daily plus working and what not .Docs aren’t sure what to do with Pops as his heart is failing and they’ve tried many things . So taking advantage of a quiet morning before a meeting with Doctors at 1030 this morning . Thanks for listening to my venting.
You all have a great weekend .

Good Mornin', Folks.
JP, sorry for the health issues your family is facing. If there's a bright side, it might be you being able to be the help Mom needs at this time. Praying the Lord will give y'all strength during this uncertain time. ::pray::
55° and clear as the sun is hitting the tops of the trees west of the house.
Workday was successful, more rearranging of my " worldly possessions" that are cluttering up my old shop. Finding some interesting stuff from days gone by. Found a big box of cow halters, lead ropes and stuff from when our children had show cattle in the youth fairs, 35-40 years ago.
May check out the Flea across Florida junk sale for a little while today or tomorrow. Like I really need someone else's junk.
Coffee's mighty good this morning!
Y'all have a great day! ::tu::

Good morning. JP, sorry to hear about your family issues. I pray the docs can figure out something to help your Dad. Jane got sick with flu like symptoms last night. Hopefully it was something she ate that's messing with her. I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed the light over the chicks in the office wasn't on and when I tried to change the bulb, the fuse blew and I had to scramble to find another fixture and bulb. They are starting to feather out so it wasn't cool enough for long enough to bother them much. I'm hoping to make some better accommodations for them this morning. We are going to try to take down a very large tree today for the widow lady who's garage door we replaced earlier this week. The top half of the tree broke off already, but there is still enough tree to make for a ton of work limbing it and cutting the trunk into manageable pieces. The weather today should be about perfect for that kind of work. I've got nothing fun planned for the weekend. Hope you have a pleasant one.____Dave

Critters are fed wampus wuz on the tractor seat awaiting patiently for his grub. Sez hiis.
Rip sure hate to hear about your pops, hope and pray that things get better, when these things affect older couples the spouse can get beaten down in a hurry. God bless. 🙏
Supposed to meet my buddies for lunch, don't know how that will work out lots of stuff going on with some of them.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Good morning. Good luck Scott. I really hope you find something I have to have. That would make my day. Rummage and estate sales should be starting up soon after the long Winter break, but there is seldom anything I would actually want, much less spend money for. I'm hoping to get some done on the lean-to shed I've been slowly working on the past 6 moths or so. Yesterday I moved the chicks back down to the barn, still under a heat lamp, and let the big chickens and guineas outside for the first day this Spring. The chickens loved it and the guineas didn't know what to make of the world outside their room in the barn. 4 of the 6 actually went out into the outer pen, and apparently were so intimidated by the chickens, that they didn't want to go back inside last night. It took me about a half hour to coax them inside. I've had guineas before, but these are the dumbest and noisiest batch I've ever had. I'm hoping they do their job at ridding our acreage of tics and don't get lost doing it. Yesterday we got the huge pine tree limbed, cut down and the branches hauled away and maybe found someone who wants the trunk for a saw log. Have a good weekend.____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks.
Another cool morning, 45° as the sun is coming up. Hummingbirds are feeding, such interesting little critters.
Speaking of flea markets, we made a stop at the local antique store where lots of folks were displaying their wares out in the large parking lot in conjunction with the Flea across Florida event. It was like a circus, probably 90% of the people selling stuff were dealers. A couple of gun dealers who think very highly of the firearms and the few "real" knives that were way out of my league. There was literally tubs/totes full of cheap imported tactical, zombie killers. Did find a set of 3/8 inch drive Craftsman sockets, has both shallow and deep sockets for $4.00. ::tu:: Probably getting out on the highway and stopping where someone has set up under a shade tree is where one might find some reasonably priced goodies.
Dave, we had some Guineas when I was growing up, both greys and whites. They were like a good watch dog when something was out of place they would sound off! If I remember correctly, the guinea's egg shells were very hard compared to a chicken egg.
I too hope Scott has a good day gathering up some good items.
Y'all have a wonderful day,

Morning folks, 34 heading to the upper 50's, jackfrost paid a visit, looked like we'd had a light snow.
Critters are fed, wampus wuz on the tractor seat, it was to cold for him to even hiss at me.
Need to get stuff together for the trash/ recycle bin. Neighbor buddy that I've farm out some of my grass cutting to is gonna change the oil in the zt for me.
Sounds to me like Scott was planning on selling at the fleamarket, whatever good luck bro.
I've about stopped the yard, garage, rummage sales, may have to rethink it someday.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Good morning. Not so much here. Last night I got Jane's stomach .flu that she's been battling for three or four days, and it's a nasty one. I unknowing made it worse by eating smoked salmon at noon yesterday, and now all I can taste is rotten fish. It's been years since I've had the flu. I'm hoping your Sunday goes way better than mine.____Dave

Good Mornin'!
Dave, your morning doesn't sound like it's very good. :( Hope you get to feeling better real soon.
Miss Joy is experiencing some issues with her psoriasis that had been under control for years. Seems we don't bounce back like we used to. Wonder why that is? ::hmm:: Surley it can't be old age, can it?
41° this morning, clear blue last few days! Full moon was pretty last evening. Yesterday we worked in the yards, finally got around to disking up two garden plots. Felt good to turn some some dirt and smell some diesel smoke!
Coffee is good this morning. Church in a few hours then hopefully an easy afternoon.

Goon morning. Still under the weather but showing improvement. Jane is about back to normal. No work for me today and probably tomorrow until I get some strength back and start eating. Before I got sick on Saturday, Jason and I got the metal roof on the shed lean-to I've been building . Jane and Melody want their garage space back and the garage is full of tools, lawn tractors and misc. equipment that will go into the new shed. There's always a million things to do. Maybe when I retire. Have a good week.____Dave

Good Mornin', Dave. Glad to hear you and Miss Jane are about to get back to normal. ::tu::
bighomer, glad y'all are up and at 'em, too! ::tu::
Seems like business at the diner has slowed down considerably. ::shrug::
We've been blessed with some mighty fine weather for almost a week. Still kinda cool in the mornings, 40s and high 70s in afternoons. Getting closer to planting a small garden. Back up a decade or so and a big garden would have already been planted and most likely would have been plowed/cultivated once or twice. That was back when we had more energy.
About to consume our 1st cup as the squirrels and birds are enjoying the morning. Lots of male Cardinals this morning.
Y'all have a wonderful day!

Balmy weather here but possible storms tonight.

I have a scheduled doctor's appointment this Wednesday. I tried to get it changed to a telephone meeting. No luck. My doctor won't do it by phone.
Phooy.

Thursday, my sister flies to Virginia to witness the graduation of a 38 year old Basic Trainee. He is the husband of a great friend. He will be a reservist.
He is fluent in half a dozen languages, so Army Intel was eager to have him, but in civilian life, he is a logistics specialist and wants to stay with that.
He had no difficulty with the physical demands of basic.
