This thread has been dormant for three years

I don't buy very many Case knives, I like old ones that have not been buffed or "cleaned"!

Already had a single blade so it's nice to find a two blade.

Beautifull horse of a knife there MB! Uncleaned, just the way I like them!

Just picked up this 6214 Case XX U.S.A. spear blade and while I'm happy with the bones and action, there is a flaw that gets me. The pen blade spring protrudes about 1/16 inch when closed. It's so proud that it catches on my pocket fabric and is sharp. Can't run your fingers over it without distinct discomfort. What gets me most is the AAPK seller not only did not mention this obvious flaw, but took the listing pictures exactly in poses so that the proud spring could not be seen or noticed even if you were looking for it, which I do. Kind of feel cheated. The wool was pulled over the eyes. Found that very telling when it's obviously not shown in the sellers pics. Won't mention any names but won't be buying anything from that seller again either. Buyer beware, even here.

When this kind of thing happens the seller should be mentioned so other members can be informed and Bryan can keep an eye on dishonest sellers.

Does the seller have a "NO RETURNS" condition or clause? I would message him and send him the photo, and express your displeasure with the item. If he is going to sell on AAPK, he should be willing to make things right. Just MHO.

Could that issue be fixed by filing down the kick or tang (or whatever the name is of the part that rests on the spring when the blade is closed)? ::shrug::

Thank you both for the opinions and comments. Appreciate the support and wishes and I will check out the return policy. I don't know what his is. I also have been thinking that although the spring was not shown protruding, the asking price was very reasonable and probably not out of line even with this flaw because if it had no flaw I would have expected a higher asking price being asked. Given the price I kind of should have expected something was not perfect and I don't see this pattern with great bones and full blades very often. I can't say the seller was dishonest because as Q pointed out in the " Post your new Case pickups" thread, maybe he didn't consider it a flaw or very important. I can't comment on his state of mind or opinion or how he sees this kind of flaw and maybe that was why the price was as it was. Gotta think it over some more before I make a move. Thanks though, I am grateful for other perspectives that you both provided and I will consider them. You both made me feel better just with your takes on the issue. Thanks again.
