I still do not agree with incorporating the DH into National League baseball as a rule in a normal season. But I'm glad Yoenis was there for this 365-footer today.

At the Rangers new ballpark all the Rangers players and coaches stood at attention while Charley Pride sang the National Anthem. All the Rockies stood too, except Matt Kemp who kneeled.
I didn’t see what happened prior to that - turned it on just in time for the anthem. For all I know they might have all ran around naked with their hair on fire before that.
And the Rangers won the game, 1-0. Lance Lynn struck out 9 and gave up just 2 hits in six innings.

Nats/Yankees Thursday night game was the most watched game since 2009, according to the radio yesterday. Last night, with the The Stras out on IR I thought, well there goes the season, since Soto is on Covid lockdown too. But they proved their resiliency is still there and clobbered the Yanks.
Rubber match today, thinking about biking over to Nats Park even though I can't get in just to be nosey.

Stras has a nerve situation in his thumb and got a cortisone shot yesterday, so hopefully, that will help his healing. Soto has tested negative once since his possible 'false positive', so he only needs to test negative one or two more times...if so, he'll be back in the lineup.1967redrider wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 1:22 pm Nats/Yankees Thursday night game was the most watched game since 2009, according to the radio yesterday. It was GREAT to see the Nats clobber the Yanks.

Marquee Sports Network finally got in under the wire and struck a deal with Comcast on Friday morning, just in time for the Cub's season opener. Guestiments have it costing Comcast customers about $6.00 per month. I can do that.

Made it to Nats Park/Bardo's Beer Garden. Great day for a bike ride, similar temps to Hilton Head/Savannah. Totin' my lightweight Benchmade 840.

After completing the first inning (three batters) Kluber left today’s game with “tightness” in his right shoulder.
Ominous start for the Rangers. Hoping it’s nothing serious.
Gallo Led off the Rangers half of the second with a 437’ homer into the second deck - first home run hit at the new stadium. Nobody on either team had hit one in the first two games.

Cubs up 9-1 in the bottom of the 8th.
I wonder how long I'll be able to get free Marquee games. Sure is strange with no crowd.
You would think with all those multi-million dollar players, everyone would get tested before every game and yet the staff are walking around with masks on. What the????

What do you guys think about the piped in crowd noise? I think it actually makes the game seem normal. Could be strange to teams that don't get much of a crowd response I guess.

Re: Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?
I can't say this without it being viewed as political but I'm going to say it anyway. I got a real sour taste in my mouth when I heard that MLB had come out in support of BLM and then I saw players kneeling during the National Anthem (nobody on the Cubs, Ferg).
M.L.B. provided shirts that said “Black Lives Matter” across the front for players to wear during batting practice. They also gave players the option to wear a patch on their jerseys that read “Black Lives Matter” or “United for Change.”
For anyone reading this that thinks it belongs in the "hidden forums", it's as much a part of baseball as the Atlanta Braves beating up on the New York Mets yesterday 14-1 or the Chicago Cubs taking the Milwaukee Brewers to school yesterday 9-1 or the Detroit Tigers squeaking by the Cincinnati Reds yesterday 3-2.

I Think your post is absolutely fine.
We are all not going to agree on every topic.
Sometimes we can't even agree on pocket knives,.
I have really missed baseball this year. But I'm not watching now because MLB is a circus this year.
DH in the NL.
Runner starting on second base.
Over half the teams making the playoffs.
Fake fans.
Fake sounds.
BLM t-shirts.
Disrespecting our Country.
No thanks!

It was my understanding that; the players/coaches only held the black banner and knelt for a 'moment of silence' in support of blm "prior" to the National Anthem, and then they all stood for the NA. I know that's what the Nats did, not sure about the other clubs.
I don't agree with MLB politicizing in the way they did...just play baseball and do your job for the fans. This kneeling crap isn't going to change a thing...society has already proven that.

My observation (what I witnessed with my own eyes and ears) is the black banner (what I saw was a ribbon) was used prior to the singing of the National Anthem, not during it. Typically, it was misrepresented in media reporting.
After watching with my own eyes what took place on the field at several games, afterward I watched and listened to the mainstream news media flat out lie about it, implying the players knelt during the Anthem. Maybe some did - Matt Kemp from the Colorado Rockies did - I saw it - but all other players from both the Rockies and Texas Rangers stood respectfully at attention during the Anthem. There were probably other Anthem kneelers at games I did not see. However the media reports I saw showed all players kneeling and holding the black ribbon, while misleadingly implying that it took place during the Anthem.
